
Port Allen man faces 10 charges after undercover purchases and search warrant execution
PORT ALLEN โ The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested a 56-year-old Port Allen man Wednesday following an investigation into suspected narcotics distribution, Sheriff Jeff Bergeron announced.
Garrett Taylor, also known as “Jamaica,” faces 10 drug-related charges after agents conducted multiple undercover purchases and executed a search warrant at his residence October 1, 2025.
Investigation and Arrest
Narcotics agents conducted several undercover purchases of methamphetamine and marijuana from Taylor during the investigation. Based on these operations, agents obtained an arrest warrant and took Taylor into custody Wednesday.
Following the arrest, agents executed a search warrant at Taylor’s Port Allen residence.
Evidence Seized
The search warrant execution yielded:
- More than 45 grams of methamphetamine
- Over 50 grams of marijuana
- More than 10 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
- Drug paraphernalia
Charges Filed
Taylor was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center on the following charges:
- Three counts of distribution of marijuana (Schedule I)
- Two counts of distribution of methamphetamine (Schedule II)
- One count of possession of methamphetamine in excess of 28 grams
- One count of possession of psilocybin mushrooms (Schedule I)
- One count of simple possession of marijuana
- One count of possession of drug paraphernalia
Bond was set at $375,000. Taylor remained in custody at the time of the Sheriff’s Office announcement.

Schedule I drugs have high abuse potential with no accepted medical use, while Schedule II drugs have high abuse potential but accepted medical uses with severe restrictions.
