
48-year-old faces multiple charges after agents complete multi-month case
PORT ALLEN — A multi-month narcotics investigation by the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of a 48-year-old Port Allen man on methamphetamine distribution charges.
Sheriff Jeff Bergeron announced that WBRSO Narcotics Agents arrested Ira Jackson of Port Allen on July 16, 2025, following an investigation that began in June 2025 into his suspected involvement in methamphetamine distribution.
Investigation Details
According to Sheriff Bergeron, agents launched the investigation into Jackson’s suspected involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine in June 2025. During the course of the investigation, agents conducted three controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Jackson, all of which occurred in West Baton Rouge Parish.
The controlled buys provided the evidence necessary for agents to obtain an arrest warrant for Jackson on distribution charges.
Arrest and Charges
Jackson was taken into custody on July 16, 2025, and booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center on three counts of Distribution of Schedule II (Methamphetamine).
Jackson remains in custody on a $300,000 bond as of this report.
Ongoing Investigation
The Sheriff’s Office has not indicated whether the investigation is complete or if additional arrests are expected. The case demonstrates the ongoing efforts of WBRSO Narcotics Agents to combat drug distribution in the parish.
The West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center is located at 1150 Northwest Drive in Port Allen.
